African Students Association
Texas A&M University
Inclusivity & Outreach
TAMU ASA is a student-ran organization centered around unity among students of African descent, while maintaining an inclusive presence towards all students. With a direct focus on the outreach and retention of students here at Texas A&M, we encourage and create a platform for student participation in community, cultural, Bacademic, and social events, thus enriching and promoting growth within the community. By stimulating interaction among African students, students of TAMU, and the society at large, we bring Africa to Texas A&M.
The African Students Association of Texas A&M University is a student ran socio-cultural organization that was founded in 1984 by a group of Nigerian graduate students. The purpose of the organization was to allow African students to showcase the uniqueness of their cultural heritage. Within our chapter, our goal is to create a culturally diverse environment that allows people who aren't necessarily even African to feel like they belong.
